Sammanfattning: This essay employs an ecocritical reading of the book Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman to analyse its portrayal of pollution and climate change. The essay also focuses on the genre cli-fi to see how the novel fits within it. The analysis of the book is intertwined with comments about the past and current handling of the environment and our climate crisis. It discusses how Christianity plays part in our view of the environment and our own responsibility. Throughout the essay it becomes clear that Good Omens fits within cli-fi and discusses serious topics regarding climate change and the anthropocentric worldview. The essay establishes that we must change how we view the environment if we wish to continue to be able to live on the planet. The conclusion is that Good Omens is a novel which is easily discussed through the lens of ecocriticism and cli-fi and that further studies on the subject would be beneficial.
