Sammanfattning: Väderstad Ab is a family business established in the 1960: s that manufactures farm equipmentsuch as harrows, cultivators and seeders. This master thesis is done on the disc cultivator Carrier300. Depending on the configuration, Carrier 300-400 can be mounted or trailed, the trailed versioncan be fitted with a CrossBoard. This allows the trailed version to better cultivate the soil. Thetask was to design a product that allow the usage of CrossBoard and CrossCutter Knife on themounted version. The product had to fit in well with the original machine, be able to retro fit andhave a weight below 150 kg. The project was performed using the product development methodby Ulrich & Eppinger. This method aims to divide the work in phases that ends with a gate atthe end. At the gate the project is evaluated and it´s determined if the work should continue tothe next phase. After it was decided what concept to go forward with, a FEM model was set up inCreo Simulate to calculate the stresses in the part. From the result of this model the design wasthan improved in several steps.The result of the project resulted in a welded product of plates and pipes that enable retro fitof CrossCutter knife and CrossBoard on a mounted Carrier 300-400. The product was than testedunder different driving conditions in both field and on road. As future work it could be investigatedif this concept can be implemented on other mounted machines such as Carrier X.
