Sammanfattning: Stress-related mental illness is widespread in Sweden. Meanwhile, there is evidence that nature can help treat these illnesses. To implement nature as a tool for rehabilitation, some knowledge of landscape architecture is needed. Such knowledge exists, but may be challenging to implement. This thesis is a case study, applying Bengtsson & Grahn's (2014) quality evaluation tool for use in designing healthcare gardens to two cases. The aim of the study is primarily to evaluate the tool and secondarily to provide recommendations regarding the healthcare gardens. The evaluation resulted in several discussions around the tool and a practical matrix that may lower the threshold for applying the tool’s landscape analysis. Thus, the wider aim of working toward better healthcare gardens is reached. In conclusion, the quality evaluation tool is a powerful and versatile addition to any landscape architect’s repertoire. Applying the results from this case study may significantly simplify the use of this tool for the unfamiliar user.
