The method used was a quantitative survey. One of the most important findings was that crimes resulting in physical harm generally had high proportions who wanted more severe punishments. Another important result was that the crimes that youth often commit had a very large proportion who favored lighter sentences. Regarding the abolition of the youth discount, a majority were positive, a relationship could be discerned where the youth of legal age were less positive than those who were not of legal age. Finally, the youth considered that their opinions are influenced by friends and parents, but no relationship between this influence and opinions could be discerned.
