(O)önskade entreprenörer? En normativ studie av brottsutredande säkerhetskonsulter
Sammanfattning: The aim of this thesis is to contribute to the overall normative question: How should the juridical system be organized? This is illustrated through private security consultants, who offer crime investigations for private companies and the public sector. They are part of a consistent change within the juridical system, which benefits private operators. The thesis examines private security consultants as a conflict between two values; individual integrity and efficiency. The thesis has a normative approach. Depending on the value and the normative logic seen as superior, different conclusions about the justification of private crime investigators are reached. Normative material about organization of the juridical system and the conflict of values are used. Interviews and empirical literature are seen as a complement to reach an understanding about the empirical reality. The analysis shows that the juridical system has changed, where efficiency is more emphasized and where individual integrity might be neglected. This development favours private crime investigators, who work for a more efficient juridical system. The analysis shows an ambiguous picture about the justification of private crime investigators, when it is combined with the two values and the two normative logics.
