Sammanfattning: From originally being used for software development, there is an increased use of agile methodologies in other areas as well. This leads to a need for further studies on the implementation of agile methodologies. The aim of this thesis is to study newly formed agile teams and their member’s perceptions of job satisfaction and examine if there are any relationships between the use of agile practices and job satisfaction. The study also presents a comparison between job satisfaction in agile teams and more traditional teams within an organisation. Strong relationships between two agile practices and job satisfaction are being presented and linked to Job Characteristics Model. No differences between agile teams and more traditional teams are found. No significant results are found, which could be explained by the size of the study. The study contributes to an increased understanding of job satisfaction in newly formed agile teams by giving possible explanations for the found results. Research within the field of psychology is still scarce and further studies on the implementation of agile methods are needed to compare this study’s result to the implementation processes of other organisations.
