Ledarskapets påverkan på organisationskulturer vid distansarbete : En studie vid Göteborgs stad

Sammanfattning: The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted in several challenges for people and organizations around the world. When the virus spread across countries, more and more people got advised to work from home to reduce the spread of infection. Even though the pandemic might have come to an end in the future, the remote work has become the new era that is here to stay. This is due to the various benefits that comes with working from home. With this in mind, we wanted to analyze how organizations and leaders have experienced the remote work. Furthermore, this thesis will examine which desired leadership qualities there is within remote work and how leaders can improve the organizational culture in a remote work. We have chosen to use qualitative interviews during this study to collect data and a thematic method to analyze the material. The study was conducted within Göteborgs stad where nine respondents who participated voluntarily were questioned from an interview guide. Based on our results, we conclude that there are several methods, practices and leadership qualities that are desired in remote work. Some important key factors that we found during this study were that trust, availability and adaptability were desirable leader qualities. Leadership practices that were preferred among the employees were reconciliation meetings, goal management, and communication. The conclusion within this thesis is that the organization partially has methods and practices that facilitate remote work. Even though they have found good ideas in how to operate the remote work, there are still some aspects to develop.
