Sammanfattning: Covid-19 and the worldwide pandemic have had direct- and indirect effects on people globally. Not least for people in the global south who are mainly affected by the indirect effects that have come from the restrictions of the governments. Tanzania was one of the few countries in the world that chose to be selective with the introduction of restrictions but has nevertheless been hit hard financially. Through a case study, interviews were conducted with 100 small-scale farmers in Babati District. The purpose of the paper is to investigate how Covid-19 has affected farmers' finances and access to food. The study also aims to investigate what long-term consequences are at risk as a result of lockdowns and what strategies and adaptations have been made to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic. The result indicates that economic instability and food insecurity are consequences of the pandemic, many farmers described that they experienced famine for the first time. Furthermore, the results indicate that the effects of the pandemic will be visible for several years to come. As a result, the UN's Sustainable Development Goals risk being delayed.
