På väg mot formativ bedömning : En kvalitativ studie av sju pedagogers tankar och arbetssätt i särskolan

Detta är en Magister-uppsats från Högskolan Kristianstad/Fakulteten för lärarutbildning

Sammanfattning: The main purpose of this study is to examine how teachers in special needs school work with formative assessment. We have used a qualitative approach and conducted interviews to get answers to our questions. Our aim is also to examine teachers´ experience of how the five key strategies, defined by Black and Wiliam (2009) in formative assessment, are being practiced with students with learning and intellectual disabilities. The results showed that deeper knowledge, interest and implementation of formative assessment vary between teachers and schools. It also showed that teachers more extensively worked with goal clarification by curriculum or other control document with good results. The teachers also experience good outcome in providing feedback to the students. Most difficulties were experienced in the students´ own learning process such as self- assessing and regulating their own learning. Difficulties were also found in using students as a resource to each other in the learning process.Teachers in the study note that students´ ability to communicate affect their interaction with other students and their ability to show knowledge. The ability to communicate also affects the teachers´ possibilities to assess the students´ learning. This complicates the implementation of formative assessment. A general success factor, and maybe to some extent a necessity, shown in the study is the importance of good relations between teacher and student to promote learning.
