Sammanfattning: The purpose of this essay is to investigate and account for the general responsibility the employer has for the working environment when the employee's workplace moves from the office to the employee's home. By examining, reproducing, and analyzing the legal regulation, the ambition is to gain a clearer understanding of the employer's responsibility for the work environment when the work takes place from the employee's home. Furthermore, the goal is also to create a picture of the limitations that work from home entails, in order to be able to clarify how the employer should be able to fulfill its work environment responsibility. Using the legal dogmatic method, the investigation has led to the identification of important factors for the employer's work environment responsibility to proceed and function when the employee works from home. On one hand, it is important that the employer clarifies what is expected of the employee and the expectations of how the work from home is to be executed in order to reduce risks in the work environment. Furthermore, the employee's execution of the work from his home entails a certain increase in the employee's responsibility related to the work environment. This entails a form of shift of responsibility to the work environment responsibility and the performance of work environment tasks. As a conclusion, a well-functioning systematic work-environment work, as well as a functioning collaboration with the employees, is essential for the employee's work to function when working from home.
