Sammanfattning: AbstractIn upper secondary schools in Sweden senior students of the preliminary academic programs arerequired to plan, structure and write a larger writing assignment named Gymnasiearbetet, (translated to student project, my translation) which should reflect the values and principles of their selected programme. This study has worked with a method called self-assessment and it is aimed to find out if self-assessment can be combined and used alongside this student project. The study used a method named DBR, Design-Based Research, to plan, structure and perform a didactical teaching sequence involving a self-assessment matrix and the students’ projects. Afterwards a follow up questionnaire and interviews evaluated the didactical design and found positive results. However, the participants of the study were too few to be able to draw any further conclusions from the study. This study can suggest further research in the area and predict a positive outcome for using self-assessment within the subject of Swedish.
