Sammanfattning: This dissertation is focused on loads in a cast – in - place building. What are the regulations that needs to be followed and how are they supposed to be interpreted in the easiest way? In a building there are several actions that can be predicted and considered in the designing process of the building. The main topic in this report is however accidental actions, the ones that can´t be fully predicted. Requirements and advice about how to construct a building with satisfying sustainability can be found in the Eurocodes and the Swedish norm EKS-10. The problem is that these roles often tend to be unclear and therefore hard to understand; that is the reason behind this project. The aim is to simplify the subject by making more descriptive explanations and by presenting examples of practical use of the regulations.     Due to the time limit of this project, all rules couldn´t be fully evaluated. This required the assignment to be built up around a fictitious six storey high concrete building. Furthermore actions have been taken into account by using strategies for identified accidental actions, strategies of consequence classes and reduction of imposed loads on buildings.
