Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to explore the increased privatization that followed in the wake of New public management. The study was based on foster home business and foster home conditions, with the existence of different logics with sometimes contradictory requirements to explore how foster home experiences affect their choice to enter into agreements with municipal or consultancy-supported activities. The investigated issues were how foster homes perceive conditions that result from entering into agreements with municipal foster home activities compared to consultant-supported activities and how foster home experiences affect their choice of entering into agreements with municipal / public or consultant-supported activities? The study's empirical data was based on interviews in focus groups with foster homes and structured interviews with associations of interest for foster homes and consultant-supported activities. The results are analyzed based on new institutionalism theory and institutional logic. The results of the study showed that the foster homes experiences can be a significant part of the choice of social worker, however, it was not the most significant deciding factor. Instead, the results showed that the questions of the foster homes status and recognition were assigned greater significance. The result gave a picture that foster homes in their daily tasks relate to different logics, apparently with an effort to get order in their everyday lives.
