Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze women's experiences of working in a male-dominated workplace in an industrial profession. This will be analyzed with help of three questions: What benefits do women experience of working in a male-dominated workplace? Do women experience any difficulties of working in a male-dominated workplace? How do women handle any challenges and obstacles in the workplace as a consequence of being a minority? To answer the study's purpose and questions, a qualitative method has been used where five women in the same workplace were interviewed. In order to interpret the study's results, theories of gender systems, gender marking, hegemonic masculinity, femininity and homosociality and heterosociality have been used. Previous research in the subject area shows that women generally have a positive attitude towards working among the majority of men, but also experience some challenges with it. This is similar to the results of this study, where all women have a good perception of working among the majority of men. The women also experience some difficulties in terms of having less room to make mistakes, as well as having other expectations in relation to men. In addition, women use different strategies to adapt to the social environment.
