Sammanfattning: In this essay I will compare three different newspapers and take a closer look at how they reported the different events during the Russian February Revolution in 1917. I will start in March 1917 and look at articles written during that time and investigate what the newspapers wrote most about. The three newspapers that I am comparing in my essay are: Svenska Dagbladet, Hufvudstadsbladet and Dagens Nyheter. In my essay I will also focus on the food crisis in Petrograd and the break out of the revolution and how these two events were described. Despite the different political opinion, among the newspaper's editorial staff, the events during the February revolution are being described in quite the same way. The Finnish newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet was the newspaper with the most comprehensive newsgathering of all three papers that I compared. This was not surprising at all as the newspaper's editorial staff was located in Helsingfors and also because of the fact that, Finland at this time was part of the Russian Empire. The articles are describing similar events and they also write about the events in a similar way. In the end of my essay, the reader will find a didactical reflection in which I have described what I´ve learned during these months while writing my essay and also how I can use my newly found knowledge in my future profession as a teacher.
