Sammanfattning: Stress is a growing problem in Western society and there is a connection between stress and psychosocial work environment, for example in the healthcare sector. The purpose of this reported study was first to examine group differences between the nursing staff at the homecare service and nursing home in how they experience their psychosocial work environment and stress. The relationship between psychosocial work environment, stress and workplace was also studied. A quantitative survey study with between groups design was made. The results showed that the nursing staff at the homecare service rated their psychosocial work environment worse than the nursing staff of the nursing home. No differences were found between the different workplaces in perceived level of stress. Psychosocial work environment and stress only correlated at the homecare service. The conclusion was that the nursing staff at both workplaces rated their psychosocial work environment relatively well and their perceived stress relatively low. The differences are believed to depend on various conditions of work based on mobile or fixed workplace.
