Miljöpartiets ställningstagande i friskolefrågan över tid: En beskrivande idéanalys

Sammanfattning: This essay examines how the Swedish environmental party, Miljöpartiet, has positioned themselves on the issue of independent schools in Sweden since the party was founded in 1981 until today. The analytical framework in the study is based on Christian Fernandez’ tripartite typology, privatization, differentiation and universalization. By using a qualitative text analysis, key texts are analysed using the analytical framework to understand the party’s standpoint over time. The results show that Miljöpartiet’s positive view on an independent school system culminated in the 1990s. Since then it has declined, but the party still retains a positive view on independent schools in general. Going forward, further research is recommended to build on this study and understand why the party has changed its views on the matter.
