Destination Serbien - En studie angående trafikinfrastrukturens påverkan på platsutveckling

Sammanfattning: The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the roll of transport infrastructure within place marketing in a post communist country. A field study of Serbia will illustrate the research. An empiric study seemed required to complement the theories. The reason for doing the field study in Serbia is the interesting history in this post communist country. Primary material was collected through interviews with key persons in Serbia and observations of the country. The main theories for this study are focusing on place marketing and infrastructure and the complications and consequences these theories explain. After analyzing the theories and empirics we can proclaim that the importance of international actors is major for the transport infrastructure development. The analyze indicates that a big amount of tourists is important for the economy in post communist countries but it also indicates that increasing numbers of tourist could be harmful for the destination image.
