Sammanfattning: The lack of educated labor causes difficulties for companies to recruit and grow at the same time as the economy in the society is affected negatively. Statistics shows that there is often a link between level of education and unemployment. The importance of the education is described by Unesco and has an impact on poverty, health and well-being, growth and citizenship. One of the goals is that everyone has the right to equivalent education that is of good quality and provide the individual with the conditions for lifelong learning. Despite this goal, labor shortages such as unemployment are social problems where necessary actions need to be taken. Being unemployed means that the individual is outside the labor market, completely or partially, for a shorter or a longer period of time. As unemployed the individual can be available to the labor market through an established contact with Arbetsförmedlingen. The actions that is taken by the Government mean that more people will educate themselves and thus will the competence of the individual increase the opportunities to approach the labor market. For the individual, the decision to educate themselves can either be seen as an opportunity or an obstacle.
