Detta är en M1-uppsats från Högskolan Kristianstad/Fakulteten för lärarutbildning

Sammanfattning: The purpose of the study was to investigate how preschool teachers experience systematic quality work as a tool and gain a deeper insight into preschool teachers' experiences of systematic quality work in preschool. This is a qualitative study based on semi-structured interviews of five legitimate preschool teachers in the south of Sweden. The study takes inspiration from a phenomenographic approach to highlight the variety of perceptions. New public management is discussed as an aspect in relation to quality measurement, which may have affected the establishments, and employees, views on quality. The result show that the preschool teachers' views regarding systematic quality work are that it concretises, makes visible goal fulfillment and forms the basis for joint work towards quality assurance. The study also show that preschool teachers feel that the work is advantageous with right circumstances. However, expressions are given for perceptions that the lack of time, as well as difficulties in the absence of guidelines on how the work should be practically performed, is a factor affecting the work.
