Sammanfattning: Swedish youth-centres are characterized by their vision of being a “meeting place for all”. To fulfil this vision, inclusion has become a relevant concept and tool for those working within these centres. This thesis is based on interviews with seven youth-workers and managers within youth-centres in a large Swedish municipality. The aim of the study is to investigate how youth-workers and managers work with inclusion, and what potential tensions may arise working with the vision of being a “meeting place for all”. As the study has been carried out in a Swedish municipality, the link between governance and the everyday work is also analysed. The material is analysed through an intersectional analysis and Ahmed’s and Brown’s theoretical discussions on concepts, as well as Brown’s theoretical framework of neoliberalism as governmentality. The analysis shows the complexity of inclusion work, and how it can be manifested in different ways. Power dynamics such as heteronormativity, ableism and racialization are discussed, stressing the importance of an intersectional understanding of power in youth-centres. Furthermore, the study shows how neoliberalism affects the organization of work through market values.
