Detta är en Magister-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Miljövetenskaplig utbildning

Sammanfattning: Stress and anxiety related illnesses havebecome more present in our society and as a result it has become more important to find ways to combat this growing issue. Quite a fewnature-related practices have proven themselves useful for this. This study aims to examine the positive health benefits from recreational activities in Swedishforests and the Japanese activity shrinin-yoku (roughly translated as ”forest bathing”),via analyzation of studiesdone in Sweden and Japan respectively. Different locational factors will be used in the study. The method in this study is a scoping review. I have searched two databases using certain keywords to find relevant studies to analyze. Results show a clear focus on the health aspect, primarily mental health, in the studies conducted in Japan, while the Swedish studies focus more on how to promote a forest that can provide the most preferred characteristics for outdoor recreational activities and how it could co-exist within silviculture. Self-perceived health view seem to be a significant part of the analyzed studies, both in Japanese studies and Swedish studies. Anykind of recreational visit to aforest seem to have greatly influencedthe visitors self-perceived health.
