Sammanfattning: Augmented Reality (AR) is currently experiencing significant growth due to the advancements in technology and its increasing presence in our everyday life. One area where AR has the potential to make a significant impact is in the context of Industry 4.0, where distributed team-members with different expertise need to collaborate to achieve shared goals. As the field of AR continues to evolve and the technology becomes more mature and robust, research priorities are shifting, and user experience (UX) is becoming increasingly important. However, most existing evaluation methods are designed for single-user systems and are not suitable for evaluating professional collaboration via AR. This thesis aims to develop a method for analytical UX evaluation for professional collaboration mediated by AR, called ECSPAR (analytical evaluation of professional collaboration mediated by AR and sense of place). ECSPAR is based on a theoretical lens of the human-geographical concept of “sense of place” and draws on different user-centered theories such as user experience and computer-supported cooperative work to address the human factors underlying collaboration. A systematic methodological approach was employed during the design process, which consisted of four iterative phases and resulted in ECSPAR. Semi-structured interviews and self-evaluation were conducted to gather empirical data. The benefits of ECSPAR include its ability to evaluate collaborative AR from a user-centered perspective without requiring a large number of users, and its ability to be applied both during the development of new AR systems and on existing systems. This enables potential usability issues to be identified and mitigated early in the development process, saving both time and money, and leading to a better, more positive user experience for the future users of AR technology. This contributes to a more sustainable and healthy work environment. In conclusion, ECSPAR is a valuable tool for UX evaluation of professional cooperation mediated by AR by providing important dimensions and a more comprehensive understanding of AR's value to the collaborative process.
