Sammanfattning: This study aims to explore if an app design, based on community-aspects that serves to create motivation, and notifications as triggers, can create a changed behaviour of users in a charity app. The changed behaviour concerns getting users to continuously return to the app. A control version was developed in order to evaluate if these implementations had an effect on the users behaviour. The design was created through a prototype which served as a foundation for the implementation. The implementation was thereafter evaluated through an interview study with 20 participants. The interview study started out with an initial interview, followed by a week where the participants got to use the app and concluded with a follow-up interview. Our results indicate that an app design based on community-aspects that serves to create motivation, and notifications as triggers could have an impact on the users’ behaviour of returning to the app if some further developments were made. The developments concerns more personalized notifications, giving the users a possibility of following users with similar interests and make the users of the app visible in more places.
