Sammanfattning: The aim of this study is to see how board games and board game clubs can be part of the creation of social meaning for a younger generation, and how board games can be a part of social work. The study is based on interviews with 3 representatives from Sverok, which is the Swedish gaming federation; Gothcon, Sweden's oldest board game convention, and Calmare Spelsällskap (CSS); a board game club in the small town of Kalmar, Sweden. Interviews have also been conducted with four active youths in CSS. These seven interviews are analyzed with theories about Belonging, Social psychology and Civil society   This study shows that board games have a positive effect as a tool to gather people with similar interests. When these people gather in board game clubs they form a kind of belonging that can help with certain issues, such as social problems. The reason why board game clubs are special is because the activity they are a part of is open to everyone, and all kinds of people are welcome and not only the ones who are good at board games. We also reached the conclusion that board games can be a part of social work, both professionally and non-professionally. This is because board games and their clubs is a part of civil society, which is a complement to social work
