Sammanfattning: This paper will introduce the explanatory factors that led to loyalty or disobedience of the military forces to the regimes in the Arab countries during the revolutionary wave in the Middle East 2011. There are few who noticed that the revolutions and uprisings that took place in the Middle East during the Arab Spring 2011 differed from the earlier one's by one important factor: That the revolutions took place in heavily military-based regimes. The result of the revolution in Egypt was that the leadership lost its power and was forced to step down particularly due to the military actions. However in Saudi Arabia the regime could remain in power and its military even supported the regime in Bahrain. That is why this paper is focused on finding the answer on question: Why did the military support the rebels in Egypt but did not do that in Saudi Arabia 2011?
