Sammanfattning: This essay examines three examples of transmedia storytelling whitin children’s litterature and other media (tv shows, computer games etcetera). The three examples – Vi på Saltkråkan, Star Stable and Moomin – each offers unique backstories in which storytelling on multiple platforms has been successful. This study focuses on why the publishers and producers choose to adapt a story to different types of media, what their gains and goals are and how this phenomena affects the children’s publishing industry and its fields. The analysis is based on theoretical perspectives such as convergence culture, transmedia storytelling and the digitalisation of the literary sphere.
