Sammanfattning: This thesis examines the alleged declining trend in the labor share of GDP. Many researchers have agreed on a decline in the labor share of GDP since the 80´s. This is of great interest since the stable relationship of the labor share of GDP are a fundamental base within macroeconomics theory. However, most research take place in the U.S., or on a global level. This research investigates if the assumption of the declining labor share of GDP is true for Sweden. And furthermore, it investigates if the theory about the fall of the labor share of GDP and the rise of superstar firms published by Autor et al. (2020), could be a possible explanation for the decline in the labor share of GDP in Sweden.
