Sammanfattning: The machoculture is a phenomenon that is expressed in society and has been introduced to the world of sports where it has been a part of for a long time. Values and norms for how a man should behave are deeply rooted in society and are brought into the world of sports. Previous studies have shown a tendency for how this phenomenon is expressed behind the men's closed changing room doors and out on the football field. This study is aimed to investigate whether this phenomenon of macho culture was expressed in men's football and, if so, how this phenomenon would differ in men's football and whether this culture could be prevented. To seek answers to this purpose, three active and one former active men's football player were interviewed using a semi-structured method. The results of this study showed that a preventive work against this macho culture turned out to be complicated as this culture and jargon is so deeply rooted in men's football that it has become a part of the sport that also creates a certatin cohesion within the team. Resources and financial resources also seem to play a major factor here in the fact that preventive work against this culture can become problematic as the associations do not have or are not willing to invest their resources in this.
