Sökandet efter de osynliga värdena : medborgarlett gestaltningsförslag för hållbar platsutveckling på Prärieparken i Hjo

Sammanfattning: This bachelor thesis have emerged in the context of the garden and landscape crafts program at the University of Gothenburg, Department of Conservation. The essay is based on a case study where a small city park in the old wooden town of Hjo, Västra Götaland, Sweden, is threatened by exploitation. The purpose is to highlight the park's values for sustainable future development. The values that will be treated are ecological, social and cultural. Through the study, indication that cultural values are not an obstacle but a resource for place development and social sustainability are put in the spotlight. For inventory and valuation of the site, an inductive method have been used. The categories covered are; physical, dynamic and intangible qualities. In order to capture social sustainability, person-centered processes as citizen dialogue have been conducted through two different approaches. Partly by a web survey but also through creative workshop where the participants themselves created models or sketches, etc. The results are collected, analyzed and compiled into a proposal that is designed as a concept idea for development of Prärieparken, where the reinforced values are highlighted and motivated.
