Emotionell granularitet i psykologisk behandling - Att mäta förmågan att särskilja mellan känslor

Detta är en Uppsats för yrkesexamina på avancerad nivå från Lunds universitet/Institutionen för psykologi

Sammanfattning: Some people differentiate a great deal between their emotional experiences, they report experiencing grief, sadness, frustration, anger etc. Other people seem to differentiate between their emotional experiences less, they report feeling good or bad. The ability to differentiate between emotions is called emotional granularity (EG). Previous studies have linked EG to higher psychological well-being and access to more emotion regulation strategies. In two studies an instrument to measure emotional granularity has been developed and tested. In the first study university students (n=469) rated which emotions they had felt during the last two days or in the present moment. From these ratings 25 emotions were chosen to form an instrument to measure EG. The instrument was tested on a group of psychiatric patients (n=31) that participated in a group treatment. The results showed no correlation between EG and level of symptoms, treatment outcome or level of alexithymia.
