Sammanfattning: Research shows that LGBTQI-people have more health issues compared to other groups, and that the place of work can act as a protective factor against mental illness. This study examines how managers describe their experience of working with active measures to promote the health of LBGTQI individuals in the workplace. The purpose of the study was to generate knowledge that can help managers in their work with active measures to promote the health and well-being of coworkers who are LGBTQI. In this qualitative study eight managers were interviewed in semi-structured interviews. The interviews were analyzed with reflexive thematic analysis and two themes were identified: The manager and active measures - the spider in the web, or? and Being LGBTQI is not a problem - at least not in our workplace. The results show that managers are unsure of what active measures are, while at the same time they talk about several active measures that are implemented in the workplace. The results also show that managers don’t see LBGTQI individuals as particularly vulnerable in their workplaces. The study underlines the importance of an active, ongoing work with active measures, against discrimination, and highlights the complexity of this structural but at the same time interpersonal work.
