Mikrosimulering för analys av Mästergatans förlängning i Enköping

Sammanfattning: Two of the main approach roads into the city of Enköping are Salavägen and Stockholmsvägen. They are connected to each other through the street Bangårdsgatan in the roundabout Salatullen and crossing Fannakorset, respectively. These crossings are from time to time heavily loaded, which is why the municipality plan for a new street in parallel to Bangårdsgatan. The traffic will then be spread out and is thereby reducing the density. The new street is actually an extension of the existing Mästergatan, a side street to Salavägen, to the east and connecting it to Stockholmsvägen or a street nearby. The purpose of this Master thesis is to show how the new street can be drawn in order to discharge the traffic in the area between the roundabout Salatullen and the crossing Fannakorset. Three alternatives have been worked out by the municipality as follows: Alt 1 – connection to the road Stockholmsvägen north of the railroad tracks Alt 2 – connection to the street Bangårdsgatan through a tunnel under the railroad Alt 3 – connection to the crossing Fannakorset through a tunnel under the railroad These alternatives are analyzed using micro simulation with a forecast of the traffic volumes in year 2030 created by the municipality. Only week days during peak hour (4 pm until 5 pm) are treated. The work has been carried out assuming that the new road is connected to existing roads through T-junctions with two lanes. It is concluded that Alt 3 best spreads the traffic on the roads in the system with good overall availability. However, if the connection is made with a roundabout, Alt 2 is as good as Alt 3. With a desired increase of the traffic flow on Mästergatan, its intersection to the commercial area Myran may be crucial if it is not properly dimensioned. It is therefore important that the design of this intersection is thoroughly planned to be able to serve the desired traffic demand and enable the discharge of Bangårdsgatan as well as the system in whole.
