LOOPS LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM En studie ur ett infrastrukturperspektiv
Sammanfattning: Development of a Learning management system is part of a design process thatconsists of a vision, an operational image and a specification where each supplierof an LMS must analyze a unique design situation. The development of LoopsLMS is a process where different methods have been used. The purpose of thestudy is to understand how users perceive the LMS's different characteristics froman infrastructural perspective. Also how Loops communicates the purpose of theLMS, its design character, functionality and technical specification to its users. Aframework for analysis is used with a focus on content. The IMS Learning DesignSpecification (IMS-LD). The methods are interview, survey and analysis of digitalmedia content. The result that emerges is that for an LMS to be successful, theLMS should be analyzed and seen from a larger infrastructural perspective. Wherea social practice, different technologies merge relationally in differentorganizations and that the infrastructure is understood in the form of a membershipbecomes central. There are many different purposes, designs and technical aspectsof an LMS that must be considered by a manufacturer in order to meet the needsand requirements of many different users. The conclusions are that there are somedifferences in the perception of how Loops communicates the system and howusers perceive the system. Development of an LMS is a very complex process withmany dimensions. We therefore need to see an LMS from an infrastructureperspective to see the complexity of a digital tool. Using an infrastructureframework to understand an LMS provides new opportunities to discover hiddenaspects of an LMS and can provide a better basis for developing an LMS. Futureresearch in the development of LMS can use AI and adaptive systems to solve thediversity of requirements placed on an LMS.
