Implementering av en intervention för småbarnsfamiljer i Sverige - En feasabilitystudie av Attachment & Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC)

Sammanfattning: This feasabilitystudie aims to investigate fidelity and effect during the implementation process of an imported intervention in Sweden. Attachment & Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC) is a 10-session, evidence-based parenting program. The current paper describes the implementation effort, including cultural adaptation and pandemic effect of switching from physical home visiting to digital home visiting. The study is based on one training cohort (n=4) of parent coaches and a small sample of 12 families receiving ABC. Fidelity is measured towards the identified key component “In the moment comments” by coding randomized 5-minute clips (n=97) from videorecorded sessions using the In the moment coding and commenting manual. The study shows that fidelity towards the key component of the ABC intervention is maintained with fidelity data similar to those of parent coaches delivering ABC in the USA. Parent-behavior change is measured in a pre–post study (n=12) using the ORCE – scale (Observational Record of the Caregiving Environment) from NICHD (Early Network Care Research Network 1996). Increase in parental sensitivity/responsiveness to non-distress and a decrease in intrusive behavior were observed similar to results from randomized clinical trials. Limitations of the study is the small sample size. The real-world character is the strength of the study. Conclusion of the study indicate that continued implementation of Attachment & Biobehavioral Catch-up in Sweden is possible.
