Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study is to contribute with knowledge about how preschoolteachers work with first languages other than Swedish and which tools thereare available in their preschools to work with this. It’s a qualitive study withsemistructured interviews where the sociocultural perspective is in focus anda phenomenography analysis model is used to analyse and process data. Thereport shows preschool teachers in three different preschools work with firstlanguages other than Swedish and what tools they use. The conclusion showsthat preschools don’t work with mother tongue other than Swedish enough inthe municipality that has been explored but that preschool teachers are positiveto work with other languages.
