Detta är en Uppsats för yrkesexamina på grundnivå från Luleå/Hälsovetenskap

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to evaluate if there is a difference in
maximal aerobic power (VO2-max) between walking with poles and without
poles. Thirty-four healthy women between the ages of 22 and 60 years
participated. They were randomised into two groups, seventeen individuals
walked with poles and seventeen walked without poles. Both groups walked
four kilometres three times a week, for eight weeks. Each completed a
submaximal cycle ergometertest before and after the exercise period. A
subjective evaluation if aerobic fitness had improved after the exercise
period was also done. Thirty-one women completed the study. The result
didn’t show a significant difference in improved VO2 max between the groups.
Several in both groups experienced a better aerobic fitness.
