Analys av aktivitet i larynx och svalget i stamningsögonblicket : En studie med fiberskopi och elektroglottografi

Detta är en Magister-uppsats från Uppsala universitet/Logopedi

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study was to investigate abnormal activity that may occur in the larynx and pharynx in the moment of stuttering, and in which structures this activity can be seen. A secondary purpose was to investigate if fibroscopy can provide a more precise interpretation of electroglottography in stuttering. This was analyzed with electroglottography and fibroscopy in six participants who stutter while reading, describing a picture and speaking spontaneously. The result shows abnormal laryngeal and pharyngeal activity at different levels that can be categorized into the overall categories of contractions, glottal openings and tremors. These types of activity appeared in five of the six participants. The stuttering of two of the participants was assessed to be primarily based in the larynx and pharynx. One participant had a primary stuttering locus in the tongue and lips, and the other three had a mixed locus of stuttering. Different types of abnormal activity as well as multiple-level stuttering locus were often found within participants and within moments of stuttering. A correlation could be seen between self-assessed muscle activity in the throat and presence of abnormal laryngeal and pharyngeal activity. Difficulties using EGG to investigate stuttering locus emerged, as tongue movements appear to result in EGG activity. Fibroscopy provided a more precise interpretation of EGG while investigating stuttering.
