Lean från teori till praktik - En studie om implementering och organisationsförändring i svensk sjukvård

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Statsvetenskapliga institutionen

Sammanfattning: Lean has become a popular organization model during the late 21st century, and it is widely spread through healthcare with high expectations of improvement and reorganization. The implementation of a certain policy is in the literature seen as a crucial step in policy realization. To better understand Lean and its adaptation to healthcare, this study examines how Lean is being implemented into Swedish healthcare. The organization of public healthcare is an important issue affecting what kind of healthcare citizens can expect. This case study uses a bottom-up perspective, and aims to answer how the implementation of Lean is executed in healthcare, and how the implementation of Lean can be understood. The study uses an implementation theory to highlight crucial flaws and opportunities in the application of Lean in healthcare. The studies’ major findings are that Lean represents countless positive properties, making the model less distinct and more trivial. A model mainly consisting of a broad set of values risks to delegate its possible success to already established conditions and norms, such as leadership and organizational culture. However, the examined model has potential functioning as a legitimizing factor during reorganization, and more.
