BIM-Kapacitet och Mognad – en objektiv bedömningsmetod för entreprenad- och konsultföretag

Sammanfattning: This report covers a study that documents the status of BIM uses of two leading companies in the construction industry. What makes this study interesting is that, to date, there has previously not been an objective status report recording of BIM usage in Sweden. It would be of great value to test a method of assessment in Sweden to enable comparisons to be made and inform the nation of how far the BIM development has come. A study such as this involves many stakeholders and can play an important role in helping companies improve and develop their BIM capabilities. The thesis aims to adopt and test methods for assessing measurement of BIM Capability (the ability to deliver BIM products and services) and BIM Maturity (quality, repeatability and predictability of BIM products and services). The study in this report is limited to assessing the BIM performance of a leading main contractor and a multidisciplinary engineering consultant organization and reports on the current status. The results of the study were generated through interviews with the following companies; Skanska and Tyréns. The study showed that the consulting company has higher BIM Maturity and Capability compared with the contracting company. The study also showed in what way the two organizations’ BIM Capability and Maturity differs with regards the use of BIM in practice. Tyréns has advanced further in the implementation of BIM than Skanska.
