Skolkuratorn - Kameleonten : en uppsats om skolkuratorns yrkesroll

Sammanfattning: Syfte med uppsatsen är att ta reda på hur skolkuratorns yrkesroll uppfattas av skolkuratorer själva och av andra yrkesgrupper i skolan. Frågeställningen är: Är skolkuratorns yrkesroll otydlig i skolan och vilka konsekvenser får det för skolkuratorn att bedriva socialt arbete i skolan? Avgränsande frågeställningar är: Vad är en skolkurator? Vilka samarbetsparter har en skolkurator och vilka relationer har hon till dessa? Vad innebär det att bedriva socialt arbete i skolan? Hur förhåller sig skolkurator till skolan som organisation? Undersökningen har genomförts med hjälp av intervjuer av skolkuratorer, skolsköterskor, lärare och rektorer. Undersökningen visar att skolkuratorns roll är otydlig och att den ger konsekvenser för skolkuratorns sociala arbete i form av att skolkuratorns kompetens inte används fullt ut. Den största bristen kan ses på arbetet på strukturellt plan, där skolkuratorn skulle kunna medverka fast hon inte gör det. Skolkuratorn är oförutsägbar, hon är hemlös och hon är en kameleont. The purpose with the composition is to find out how the working role of the social worker in school is by the socialworker in school her/himself and other working categories in school. The question at issue is: Is the proffessional role of the social worker in school unclear and which consequenses will it have to the social worker to work in school? Delimited guestions are: What is a social worker in school? Which co-operating partners does a social worker in school have and which relationship does she/he have to them? What does social work in school involve? How does the social worker in school beahave to the school as an organization? The investigation has been carried through with the help of interwievs of social workers in school, school-nurses, teachers and principals. The investigation shows that the professional role of the social worker in school is unclear and that it has consequences to the profession of the social worker in school in the way that the competence of the social worker in school isn´t used in full. The main lack is to be seen on a structural level, where the social worker in school could be working though she doesn´t. The social worker in school is unpredictable, she is homeless and she is a chameleon.
