Sammanfattning: The aim of this study was to examine support given to adult female victims of human trafficking for sexual purposes, by interviewing Swedish professionals within the organisation field. The focus was on how the support given in Sweden is adjusted to meet the women’s needs according to the professionals. We also examined the follow-up within other countries and their collaboration with Swedish organisations through earlier research and our interviews. Another aim was to study the differences between the non-profit organisations and the organisations within the public sector. We also studied the structural difficulties the professionals met when offering the support. Throughout the analysis we analyzed our material through Martha Nussbaum’s theory of human capabilities. Furthermore we used theories on sex, ethnicity, class and gender to preform an intersectional analysis. We chose to do a qualitative study with five semi-structured interviews of professionals from both the public sector and civil society. The results of the study showed that the support given does meet certain needs. However, the organisations are faced by many structural problems such as Swedish laws, the lack of transnational collaboration as well as political and normative structures surrounding women around the world.
