Högerpopulism - en fallstudie över Finland och Ungern
Sammanfattning: This master thesis discusses the growth of radical right wing political parties in Europe. The point of departure is the theoretical framework, which consists of four chosen theories, trying to explain the reason behind the increasing support for radical right wing parties among the voters in Finland and Hungary. The theories are postindustrial developments, a legitimacy crisis for political institutions, a convergence among the established political parties and an increase of certain political questions in the political debate. In the latest election, the True Finns and Jobbik, became the third biggest party in Finland and Hungary. The main feature of the thesis is its theory testing approach. The theoretical framework’s validity will be tested on these two cases. The thesis is a qualitative study and a process tracing will be done to discover what underlying sources affected the growth of the True Finns and Jobbik in the latest elections.
