Från sexualundervisning till sexualitet, samtycke och relationer : En dokumentstudie av läroplanens historia för barn och ungdomar 9–13 år

Sammanfattning: The purpose of this study is to gain knowledge about the curriculum's development of the subject area sex and cohabitation for children and young people aged 9-13. Previous research reports the importance of the substance for humans and to some extent how it has developed. This study contributes with concrete differences from when the subject was first introduced as sex education, to changing the name to sex and cohabitation education and in year 2022 change the name to sexuality, consent and relationships. The results reported in the study have been processed through text analysis. In connection with this, we have analyzed the curricula and syllabi according to what Ungdomsmottagningen (u.å.) explains should be part of the sex and cohabitation education. Through a qualitative approach, we came to the conclusion that the subject area sex and cohabitation has expanded material in teaching and broadened the meaning of the subject by, for example, not only connecting it with the physical, but also the mental. The conclusion is that there has been continuous development of the subject area sex and cohabitation and that the curricula have adhered to the new norms and values that are emerging in society.
