Fysisk aktivitet och stillasittande på arbetsplatser - En litteraturstudie om interventioner på arbetsplatser med intentionen att minska stillasittande och öka fysisk aktivitet
Sammanfattning: Introduction: Sedentary behavior is increasing and prolonged sedentary induces several health risks. Physical activity on the other hand induces several positive health effects. Aim: The aim of the study was to examine different interventions focusing on sedentary behavior and physical activity and the effect it might have. Method: The method being used was a literature review with a systematic literature search. Four databases were being used and 15 articles were selected, examined and analysed. Results: The studies used different methods but all of them included some sort of intervention to affect sedentary behavior and/or physical activity. Through analysing the articles’ interventions and results five different topics were being identified with some subtopics: Replacing sedentary-time with physical activity, Interruption from sedentary-time, Exhortations for physical activity, Work environment: social support and physical environment and Multicomponent interventions. Discussions/Conclusion: The result of the studies varied. Different methods and interventions were being used but several used multicomponent interventions that seemed to have a beneficial effect on sedentary behavior and physical activity. Also step-competitions and the work environment were observed to have an impact on differences in physical activity and sedentary behavior. What the interventions primarily put their focus on and the participants focus and attendance during intervention may affect the effect of the study. The conclusion was that there are several different types of interventions that may affect physical activity and sedentary behavior but important to influence the whole organisation and support and motivate the participants.
