Anorektiker eller en person med Anorexia? - Att skapa en identitet med hjälp av Pro-ana bloggar

Sammanfattning: The aim of this study is to explain what a Pro-ana blog is and from an identity perspective examine the level of significance these blogs have for the users. The study is based on five blogs and its last fifteen posts. To analyse these we used a qualitative method in terms of text analysis on the basis of a social constructionist theory. The results showed us that Pro-ana is seen as a lifestyle by the users and the aim with these blogs is to support each other in the choice of this lifestyle. Further we discovered that the users of these blogs are in a major need of the fellowship created by the Pro-ana community and that the users shape and transform their identities in this community. The study also showed that the virtual world makes it possible to be anonymous and create the desired identity.
