En undersökning av effektivitet mellan en gammal och en ny avluftningsmaskin på Akzo Nobel i Malmö

Detta är en Master-uppsats från Lunds universitet/Kemiteknik (CI)

Sammanfattning: The goal of this study was to investigate if a new deaeration machine was more efficient than the current deaeration machine used at Akzo Nobel. The results showed that the deaeration of the black tinter with the new machine went successful with less than 2 % air content in the tinter. This tinter was only deaerated with the new machine and the efficiency between the new and current machine could not be compared based on the black tinter. Regarding the tinter(yellow) the results showed that the air content in the tinter after deaeration with the new machine was 1,15 % compared to 0,77 % with the current machine. This means that the requirement for the air content to be less than 2 % in the tinters was fulfilled with both the current and the new machines. The energy cost savings, water use savings and material lost savings/year were calculated to 1205 kWh, 1840 liters and 320 kg when deaerating the tinter(yellow) with the new machine compared to the current machine. The time for deaeration of 1000 liters of tinter(yellow) was calculated to 15 minutes faster with the current machine compared to the new machine. After the deaeration of the tinter(yellow), the time for cleaning with the current and new machine where calculated to 35 minutes respectively 37 minutes. In this work, a new programmed automatic deaeration process where created and some adjustments where done with the existing programmed automatic cleaning process with the new machine. In future work, this project can be developed by testing the deaeration process of several tinters with different pigments and viscosity to ensure that the new machine works user-friendly with all types of tinters manufactured at Akzo Nobel.
