Staffanstorpsbanan - En studie om lönsamheten för att upprusta Staffanstorpsbanan för trafikering

Detta är en Kandidat-uppsats från Lunds universitet

Sammanfattning: The purpose of the report is to study whether it is economically profitable to start operate traffic on the Staffanstorp Line, the railway between Staffanstorp and Malmö. Also what resources and measures that are required will be studied. The activities that have been carried out are a literature study, a visit to the Staffanstorp Line and several calculations in form of cost estimates and costbenefit analysis. The report describes how the Staffanstorp Line status today is, which critical points that exist and how they should be addressed in order to carry out appropriate traffic on the track. The result shows that upgrading the Staffanstorp Line to working order will cost SEK 771 million. The estimated travel time between Staffanstorp to Malmö would be 9 minutes. According to the cost-benefit analysis this project has a negative result, with a cost-benefit ratio of -0,06. However, given that railway projects usually have a negative cost-benefit ratio and in this case a ratio very close to zero, we consider that the possibility of the Staffanstorp Line should be investigated further.
