Sammanfattning: Abstract A number of municipalities in Sweden have begun digitization processes with the stated aim of simplifying the application procedure regarding social initiatives for citizens. In this way of working, a view of the citizens as competent and mostly able to work is a part. Another is less control and more trust in the applicants' tasks. The first municipality to introduce this approach was Trelleborg. After that, this way of working is called “The Trelleborg model. “There is criticism of the introduction of working models similar to the Trelleborg model. There is concern that this will lead to poorer opportunities for meetings with clients because in cases where digitalisation of, for example, financial assistance in the municipalities has been introduced, a large number of administrators have been replaced with so-called automated decision support, often called robots. regarding the processing in the computer system. There are also fears among researchers that the group of applicants who are weakest and most stigmatized will now also suffer from increasing digital exclusion and that the gaps will increase between those who use the technology and the most vulnerable. My research question is how digitalisation affects the process for administrators and seekers of assistance in financial assistance from the administrators' perspective. The method is a qualitative study through semi-structured interviews in four different themes based on a previous survey by researcher Isabella Scaramuzzino (2019) and to get an answer to my research question I use the same questions and categories that she has already used in a survey of social workers. experiences of digitization. The categories are 1 Tasks and employment, 2 Decisions and assessments, 3.Efficiency and holistic view 4 Control and preventive work.            What it all revolves around can be said to be the caseworkers' room for maneuver, since many of the questions revolve around individual assessments, assessments and the principle of equal treatment. When analyzing the interviews, I make a comparison between my interview answers and the answers that Scaramuzzino has obtained, and in addition, I use a content analysis of my interview answers inspired by grounded theory. The results confirm previous research on social workers' concerns about the effects of digitalisation. The fears are, among other things, that there is a fear that the opportunities will diminish to capture other social problems after digitalisation and that there will be less overview and a holistic view in the assessment of a person's situation. There are also fears that digitalisation will lead to less time for personal meetings with clients and thus a less interesting job. Risk of staff reductions and that it will be complicated for those who need more help when they apply are other fears that come up.A key issue that arises in research is who one digitizes for and that the profession and technology are often not so easy to bring together, among other things because it often turns out that technology and the implementation of a reorganization are often the goal itself in more ways than one. to make it easier for clients. Keywords: digitalisation, the Trelleborg model, automation of social services, grassroots bureaucracy, room for maneuver
