Sammanfattning: The main goal with this thesis report was to come up with ideas of how to make the use of energy more effective and thus save money for the company. First a survey was made to find out where and how the energy consumers were divided within the company. The results were then used in calculations to find out how much money that could be saved and how long it would take to get back the investments. There is a big potential in saving money by recovering heat from the UV-lamps with a heat exchanger. It would also even out the pressure in the factory which is a source to heat loss and a cause for discomfort amongst the employees. It’s possible to save 105 000 kr in a year and the money needed for the investments is 600 000 kr. By using the recovery air more effectively the company could save up to 250 000 kr a year in lowered heat purchases, but this would require the use of automatic dampers. If you reschedule the running times for the wood chipper and invest in some kind of load management, for example Sydkraft’s “Energidirigent” you can save at least 42 000 kr. This goal can be reached by lowering the subscription to maximum 1800 kW. You can add isolation to the building but that’s hardly worth the money because the investment cost is approximately 1.9 Mkr while the savings are only 100 000 kr a year. By turning off unnecessary lighting a lot of money can be saved. When all savings are added the total amount is 24 000 kr a year which is very good considering that the investment cost is only 52 000 kr. Another good investment is to isolate the compressor shed and recover heat from the compressor GA55. The total savings are 24 000 kr in a year and the investment is 30 000 kr. In order to get high efficiency for a compressor the incoming air should be as cold as possible because cold air has higher density than warm air. Because of that you should use lines to lead cold air to the intake from the outside instead of using the warm indoor air. It’s possible to save 26 000 kr in a year and the money needed for the investments is 60 000 kr. If you have a large water heater heated by the boiler you can save almost 6 000 kr in a year. Unfortunately the investment cost is 50 000 kr. By using a transporting screw instead of a fan by the wood chipper you can save 3 000 kr in a year. The investment will be 15 000 kr.
